dSPAM on FreeBSD

Monday, April 24, 2006

If you want to use dSPAM on your server and you happen to run the daemon of FreeBSD, then you are in luck. FreeBSD has a port in the /ports/mail directory. There is also a dspam-devel port which allows you to install the development edition. While the devel version is usually pretty stable, I would not recommend using it for a production mail server.

I have used dSPAM on my freebsd server for some time and have liked it quite well. While I have not made any modifications, or tried to brand it for my company or anything, it works pretty well.

The dSPAM filter is one of the best, and most efficient spam filters that I know of. On top of this it is open source and runs on almost all systems.
