Using OS X Mail to Block Spam

Thursday, February 02, 2006

One of the most annoying things that came with the internet was spam. Now sure some of us have no problem determining the spam from the ham ourselves, however for those who end up reading every peice of mail in your inbox, you need some filtering! OS X has a very nice spam filter built into Mail.

To initiate the learning process on the spam filter in Tiger, you simply go into Mail > Preferences. Then go to Junk Mail and enable junk mail filtering. It will go through a training period, then you can set it to automatic after you feel that the spam filter has learned your email patterns. This is a very effective way to reduce the ammount of spam in your inbox and help you save time.
